Do you come out to measure for a quote? No, not unless you specifially request us to and need us to. When the majority of companies tell you that they "need to send someone out to measure for a quote", what they actually mean is that they are going to send a commission-based salesperson to your property, which is an old fashioned technique that is not only unnecessary but increases the price you pay! No doubt the person "measuring" will find an amazing way to drop the price massively if you sign today... Here at Cardiff and Vale Glazing, we rely purely on your input, whether that is via email, online designs, photographs or a visit to our showroom and a pressure-free chat over things. You can send us rough measurements if you want to, but we will always perform a full Survey to obtain accurate manufacturing measurements if you place an order with us, and we guarantee the price we quote will not increase. If, for medical reason for example, you need somebody to come to your property or that of a relative, please let us know and we will assist you as much as we can.

It is always helpful to be emailed a photograph of the inside/outside of your current door, so that we are sure that the door you have designed will fit your property, but this is not essential. Click here to design a composite door. You can arrange an appointment at our fully stocked showroom and speak to us face to face about what you are looking for. We will make notes of your requirements and then contact you with a quotation via email. Click here to arrange a showroom appointment. Email us at info@cardiffandvaleglazing.co.uk with your name, address and what you are looking for. It helps us massively if you can provide a contact number and address, or photographs of the windows and/or doors you want to replace. We promise not to share your details with any 3rd parties or to add you to any annoying mailing lists! Call us on 02921 150 585 to discuss your requirements and we will guide you with any help and advice needed to make the quoting process easier for you. How long does it take to get a quote? The majority of quotations are produced on the same business day, however we always ask you to allow us up to 48 hours at busy times. Quotations for some Aluminium products can sometimes take longer than this, as can larger jobs such as a quotations for the replacemet of a property full of windows and doors.
-
Do your prices include fitting etc?Yes, our prices are quoted fully inclusive! 99.9% of the jobs we quote are for the supply and installation of windows and/or doors. These prices include: VAT charged at 20%. Pre-Installation Technical Survey by a Certified Surveyor. Bespoke manufacture of your Window(s) and/or Door(s). Removal and disposal/recycling of your old Window(s) and/or Door(s).* Award winning installation of your new Window(s) and/or Door(s). All fixings, trims, silicone, foam etc as is required for installation. 10 year Insurance Backed Guarantee through HomePro.** CERTASS certification (the same as a FENSA certificate, to show compliance with Building Regulations).** *We will automatically dispose of these (and recycle as much as possible) unless you specifically request that we leave them for you to re-use. **We suggest that you retain these documents and keep them alongside a copy of your order form. When it comes to selling your property in later years you will have a trouble-free transaction when it comes to having had new windows/doors installed.

Will the price change on survey? We have heard the following horror story from many customers who have signed with other companies. "Our 14 day statutory right to cancel period had expired before the survey was performed. On the day they came to do the survey, they found that additional items were needed for the job, so the price of the job increased dramatically. We argued and tried to cancel the order but, because 14 days had elapsed, the deposit could not be refunded." We guarantee that the price you sign for when you place your order will be the price you pay. If we miss something whilst we're quoting, that is our problem, not yours. This is why we ask for photographs and may ask several questions before producing your quotation(s).

These are extremely thermally efficient windows (the first window manufacturer to ever achieve the a-rated standard) and extremely secure windows. We are so adamant that they are the best, that we also use them as the frames for our uPVC and composite doors. Take a look at how secure REHAU windows are. How do I place an order? If you decide that you would like to place an order, all you need to do is tell us! Either email us on info@cardiffandvaleglazing.co.uk or call us on 02921 150 585 and tell us that you'd like to proceed with an order - we'll just need the reference of the quotation you would like to proceed with, for example D-1234-2. Before we produce an order form for you, we will send you a Pre-Order Checklist email asking you to confirm a few details, such as full contact details, your legal name (to ensure your guarantee etc are issued correctly), whether there is parking outside your property and a couple of questions regarding how you would like to pay and which (if any) annual support you would like. Once the checklist is complete, we will send you 2 more emails: An email detailing your deposit, and how to sign the order form. The electronic Order Form itself. This is sent to you via Xodo (formely Eversign) and allows you to view and sign your order using a mobile phone, tablet or computer. Once we have recieved your deposit, we will email to confirm its receipt. Once we have received the signed order form, we will contact you to arrange a Pre-Installation Technical Survey. These are offered within 1 week of signing your order and performed within 2. Usually, we will complete your survey with just a few days, but we like to quote worst case timescales.

How much is the deposit? As a small family run business we, like the majority of businesses, rely on regular cashflow to trade. We request a deposit on all orders. A deposit shows commitment from both sides, as the deposit generally does not cover the cost of the materials, and all parties are keen to complete the job as quickly as possible. We request a minimum deposit of 25% on all standard orders. On certain orders we will offer a discount for an increased deposit, for example paying 50% deposit instead of 25% may result in a discounted overall balance. Supply Only orders are subject to a minimum 50% deposit, followed by the remaining balance the day prior to collecting your order from our warehouse, or balance paid in full on order.
-
How do I pay the deposit?Being totally honest with you, we hope that our customers will pay via BACS, as the bank charges are lower for us, and we receive more of the money that you pay to us. We can accept credit/debit card payments. Customers can choose their payment method by visiting our Payment Page. On orders over £1000 it is possible to spread the cost of your windows and doors over 3 - 10 years from as little as 10.9% APR representative. More information, as well as a finance calculator, can be found on our website by clicking here. Cardiff and Vale Glazing Limited is an Introducer Appointed Representative of Phoenix Financial Consultants Limited (Phoenix). Phoenix is a credit broker, not a lender. Phoenix is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (Financial Services Register No. 539195), and offers finance from its panel of lenders. How do I sign an order form?We produce an electronic order form for you using Xodo, which was formerly known as Eversign. This will be emailed to you. When the email arrives: Open the email(s) with the subject line “Please sign this document – Order Ref: D-xxxx” Click the blue link “Review & Sign” to open the paperwork. Scroll down and click on the highlighted “Sign” box (your name/date should be automatically completed for you). Simply choose a signature you would like to represent your signature, or sign your own on screen or by using your mouse, depending on which software/hardware you are using. You can also, if preferred, upload a copy of your signature, although this is not required and is not required with electronic signatures. Once you have chosen your signature, click “Sign”. If you are happy with the document and your signature, click the green “Finish” in the top-right of the screen to submit the document to us. Once you have clicked on “Finish” a final popup box will appear asking you to confirm that you understand that you are signing a legally binding document. Click “I Agree” if you agree. You have now electronically signed a legally binding document which will be emailed to us automatically. You will receive a copy of the signed document which you print out and retain for your records.
-
Do you need to come and measure up?Once we have received your deposit and signed order form, we will be in touch to arrange a Pre-Installation Technical Survey. This will entail one of our certified Surveyors attending the property to measure, take photographs and make notes of anything of interest to the job, such as access, gas pipes, electrical wiring etc. Door surveys generally take about 5-10 minutes to complete, whereas window surveys can take from 10-40 minutes depending on the type, size and quantity of windows being ordered. The price is guaranteed not to increase on survey.
-
How long will my order take?We always quote 5-10 weeks from order to installation, but some products take less time than others. All products are manufactured bespoke for you, so the completion time is at the mercy of manufacturers. In most cases, white uPVC items take the least amount of time to produce, and composite doors and aluminium products take the longest. We wait for updates from manufacturers, who advise us of expected completion dates, and then look to book installation with you in advance. Rest assured - we request the remaining balance on your order on the day of installation, so we strive for a fast turnaround just as much as you do!
-
What do I do if there is a problem after installation? In the rare event of encountering an issue with any of the products we have installed for you, simply contact us. The Windows and Doors we install carry a Manufacturers Warranty and Installation Guarantee, backed up by a 10 year Insurance Backed Guarantee, as does the majority of the furniture and glazing we provide. Call us on 02921 150 585. Email us on info@cardiffandvaleglazing.co.uk.
-
Will you send me a FENSA certificate? We have chosen to work with CERTASS, not FENSA. Both offer the same service, but we prefer CERTASS. Our registration number is 24-1016 and our membership page can be found by clicking here. Once a qualifying installation has been completed, we will register your job with CERTASS. They, in turn, will activate your 10 year Insurance Backed Guarantee with HomePro. CERTASS and/or HomePro will contact you in due course to ask for feedback on the service that you received from us, and provide you with your paperwork.
-
What guarantee do we get?We offer a Manufacturers Warranty and an Installation guarantee. Qualifying installations* are provided as standard with a 10 year Insurance Backed Guarantee (IBG) registered with HomePro, with the policy starting from the last day of installation. It is illegal to sell an IBG to customers, so be aware of any company offering to do so. *some installations are not "qualifying" and will not be covered by an IBG, such as glass unit replacements, commercial installations or installations where an opening has been made wider. If you are unsure whether your installation will be covered, please ask us before placing your order.

Is there something I have to do to look after my windows/doors?We always suggest maintaining your windows and doors as best you can, in the same way that you maintain your car/bike by checking the oil, coolant, screenwash and tyre pressures etc. Windows should be kept clean, and moving parts lubricated from time to time. Doors require more attention, and we offer several ways to help you to look after them: Annual Support Plans - click here to learn more about the 3 available options. Self Help Guides - click here to watch on YouTube.
